We work from 27 years of travelling this country the slow way: the Rockies, the BC coast, Salt Spring Island, Tofino, Jasper, Banff, and the Ontario lakeshore from Kingston to Essex. That knowledge is the product. Distance is part of the design, wildfire season is planned around months ahead, and mountain weather that turns by the hour gets a second plan for the same day, every day.
Six crossings of this country by thumb before I owned a passport stamp, and 700 kilometres by bicycle from Kingston to Essex. I did it the hard way, so I know exactly where the hard way stops being worth it.
Our credibility: 27 years of personal journeys across Canada, beginning at sixteen with a thumb out on the Trans-Canada Highway. Every route we design has been driven, walked, or paddled by someone who lives here.
Banff and Lake Louise are thoroughly discovered. We take clients at sunrise, in shoulder season, or by routes that bypass the queues, and we build most Rockies journeys around Jasper, which is larger, quieter, and holds one of the largest dark-sky preserves on earth.
No coaches, no strangers, no fixed departures. Your party travels in a private vehicle with a guide who knows which pull-off has the view and which one has the bears.
Mountain weather turns by the hour and July to September carries wildfire smoke. Every outdoor day carries a fallback in the same day, and every summer proposal carries an alternative location.
You tell us once what matters: pace, wildlife, wine, altitude, children, a proposal. The journey is then designed around that, and adjusted while you travel.
